After playing his entire career for the Wizards thus far, John Wall will be making his debut as a Houston Rocket for the first time after returning from injury. While it may be unfamiliar territory for Wall, he’ll have a former Kentucky teammate in Demarcus Cousins joining him on the floor as the two share the court for the first time as NBA teammates. Wall and Cousins couldn’t bring a championship to Kentucky, nevertheless, they are still regarded as one of the better college basketball duos the NCAA has ever seen.
Wall is looking for a fresh start to his NBA career that has recently been riddled with injuries after missing about half of the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He joins a Rockets team filling the hole created by the exit of Russell Westrbook, as he looks to become the team’s central focus at point guard.

Cousins, who shares a similar injury struggle to Wall, has bounced around the league over the past few seasons and has yet to find a true home outside of Sacramento where he was drafted.
Being paired with James Harden, arguably a top three player in the league, should help take the stress off of these two from the start. They join a superstar led team from scratch and look to take this Rockets team to the next level.
Both of these guys are highlighted in our $20 NBA New Year’s Eve $2K Guaranteed Contest. How will they perform in their debuts as teammates alongside James Harden?
